Is signing up to Stay22 worth it?
I registered with Stay22 in summer 2025 as a way to improve the income I was receiving from my blog. I liked the idea of diversifying my passive income streams, and was intrigued by their Nova tool which provides an additional way to get commission from bookings.
My journey with Stay22 began with their onboarding team, who explained to me on a video call how their program works and how it can be used to increase revenue. As I was only receiving a small amount of money from Travel Payouts at the time, I was keen to try something else and decided to give it a go.
The installation process itself was easy and all I needed to do was add a few lines of code into the header or footer of my website. I was able to copy this from my Stay22 account, and it started working right away.
With my permission the team were also able to automatically convert my Travel Payouts links over to Stay22, so I didn’t need to go through my entire site and do this manually.
Initially I was concerned that Stay22 might not be able to work with me as my website is hosted on Squarespace. That was not the case, however, and they are able to work with publishers who use a variety of platforms.
How does Stay22 work?
There are many ways that Stay22 works to increase affiliate commission from your website. Here is my explanation of all of their tools and how useful I’ve found each one.
All of these tools are optional, and you can discuss which ones you want to use during your onboarding call.
Link Generator - ‘Let Me Allez’
These are the direct affiliate links that you might be familiar with from other programs.
Named ‘Le Me Allez’, the link generator is super easy to use and can create affiliate links for any of their suppliers, whether that’s Booking, Get Your Guide, Expedia or something else. All you need to do is copy the link for the product that you want an affiliate link for, hit generate, and then copy it onto your website.
According to Stay22, this tool has generated $500M+ in bookings for its members to date, which is amazing!
Nova
One of Stay22’s landmark tools, Nova is the main reason why I made the switch and is the tool that leads to most of my affiliate commission.
Nova uses AI to identify when a reader has high intent for making a booking, and automatically opens a tab on their browser with the booking page. For example, if someone is reading a hotel guide on your website and Nova detects high intent, then their preferred hotel booking website will automatically open as a tab on their browser.
I love this tool and find it very helpful as it generates lots of bookings. The only downside I’ve found is that there does tend to be a higher number of cancellations when bookings are made using Nova. As this only happens occasionally, it hasn’t been enough to cause me concern and generally balances out fine.
Travel Payouts have recently launched their own AI tool, Drive, and although I haven’t used it yet, I’ve heard from other bloggers that it isn’t as effective to use as Nova.
Spark
This simple tool works automatically to increase the amount of affiliate links on your site without changing a single word of your writing.
It basically trawls your site to identify missed opportunities in your existing writing and adds the affiliate links in for you. Easy!
Roam
This tool is all about converting your existing affiliate links into the most effective supplier for each reader who visits your site. For example, if a reader clicks on one of your Booking links but their preferred website is Expedia, then Roam will redirect them to that website for you.
This ensures that all of your readers have a personalised experience, which is better for them and makes it more likely that you will receive a commission.
Interactive Maps
Another tool that I’m a big fan of, I feel that the interactive maps genuinely benefit the user experience on my website.
Adding a map to one of your webpages is simple. Just navigate to the ‘Manage My Maps’ tab on your account and click ‘Create New Map’. Once you add the location that you want the map to focus on, you can easily add it onto your website by copying the embed code.
I find that I get occasional bookings using the interactive maps, but also really like how they add to my site visually.
Retail
Stay22’s newest feature, this is one that I’m yet to try and am keen to use in the future.
The retail arm of Stay22 partners with organisations like Walmart, Nike, Sephora and more, working in a similar way to their travel program. If you write about a lot of physical products on your website, such as packing lists, then it’s definitely worth giving this a go.
How Much Do I Earn With Stay22?
Unlike other publishers, I’m not making huge amounts of money yet with Stay22 but I have managed to increase my income and hope to continue doing so using their tools.
Between August 2025 and February 2026, and I have generated $1819 in commission using Stay22. I’m genuinely delighted by this and feel it’s a great start and will continue to increase in the future.
My most successful months so far were September, when I had 38 bookings, November when I had 37 bookings and January when I had 27 bookings, making $405.62, $420.83 and $407.52 respectively. I will make sure to revisit this post in the future to keep you up to date with my progress, as I know there’s great potential to be making more money using Stay22.
In comparison, I made a total of $785 over the 6 months that I worked with Travel Payouts. That means that by switching to Stay22, I increased my affiliate income by 132%!
How to Receive a Sign up Bonus
Either click this link or enter the code ‘juliasbookcase’ when signing up to receive an extra $100 when you hit 100 bookings!
I used a similar code when registering and recieved my bonus within the first three months of working with them, so it’s definitely worth doing.
Stay22 vs Travel Payouts - Which is Better?
Making a direct comparison between the two programs, for me, is easy.
Customer Support
Firstly, I’ve found that the levels of support provided by Stay22 are much better than that provided by Travel Payouts. While working with Stay22 I had several calls with the onboarding team when setting up my account, and now have a named account manager who I can contact with any problems or queries. In contrast, I have never had a single call with anyone from Travel Payouts.
Having this direct contact with an expert has been invaluable for helping me to learn more about affiliate marketing and increase my income. For example, when I worked with Travel Payouts I was making most of my money from TripAdvisor as they provide commission for clicks instead of bookings.
When I joined Stay22 they advised me that bloggers generally made more money through bookings on websites like Booking and Expedia, and I swapped my links over on their advice. Making this change has directly linked to an increase in my income, which I am extremely grateful for!
Effectiveness of Tools
I also feel that Stay22 have a better range of tools that I can use to monetise my site. I really like the interactive maps which add to the user experience, and find that the Nova program in particular works really well as a way to drive bookings. I can see this on my account, where it explains how all of my commissions are made.
Since leaving Travel Payouts, the company has introduced their Drive tool which is said to work similarly to Nova. Although I haven’t tried this myself, I have heard from other bloggers that it isn’t as effective.
Detail of Reporting
I’ve found that the information I get on the transactions tab of my account is much more detailed than the reporting I received from Travel Payouts. For example, with Stay22 I can easily find out the exact hotels that have been booked, the country that the customer was booking from, and the type of device they were using. Whereas on Travel Payouts it’s not easy to find this information (if it’s available at all).
Money Made
Overall, I have made more money using Stay22 than I did when using Travel Payouts. Some of this may be attributed to how I changed most of my hotel links from Trip Advisor to other platforms, however, I did this on the advice of the Stay22 team.
I also get most of my bookings now using their Nova tool, which has really helped to increase my income.
I hope that you’ve found this article useful. Make sure you use my referral code ‘juliasbookcase’ when signing up for that $100 bonus!
