Review: Strawberry Lane Tree Tent in West Sussex
(I stayed here in return for an honest review, however, all opinions are my own)
Here’s my full review of the new campsite managed by Tree Tents International.
When Tree Tents got in touch and asked if I wanted to visit their new campsite, it was easy for me to say yes. Their Strawberry Lane Tree Tent is unlike anything I’ve seen before, and is nestled in a secluded woodland near to Pulbrough in West Sussex.
The structure itself is incredible, and is designed by Tree Tents International themselves. One of many unique products that they’ve sold around the world, I can honestly say that I’ve never seen anything like it, and I was excited to spend a night suspended between the branches.
There’s no need to worry about safety - the tent is well secured and the ladder is very sturdy. As someone who is able bodied but not particularly athletic, I found it was easily for me to climb up into the tent without worrying about falling.
As the structure is suspended, it does shake and wobble slightly when you move around, but this is something that I quickly got used to.
The tent is super cosy inside, and comes fully furnished, with a small double bed, table and a tiny little log burner for the colder nights. Pieces of timber are also provided, as well as bedding, bottles of water, a lamp, and a selection of reading material. There’s also room for storage under the floor, and we tucked our bags away in there.
Kitchen and bathroom facilities are available on the ground, and I was delighted to find that the toilet and shower came in their own self contained pod. Also designed by Tree Tents, the bathroom pod was clean and spacious with running water and a compostable toilet.
The wood fired bathtub was another great feature (again, designed by Tree Tents). It takes a little while to heat up, but once it’s warm, bathing outside in the woodland is absolutely divine.
For cooking, the site is equipped with an outdoor kitchen that includes a hob, cool box, and all of the cutlery and cooking equipment needed to make a decent meal. We really enjoyed using the wood fired pizza oven, and I particularly loved the outdoor rocking chairs that made the perfect spot to sit and read.
How to find the Strawberry Lane Tree Tent
Even arriving at the campsite is an experience in itself. As instructed, we parked our car in a nearby barn and piled our belongings into a little trailer that had been left out for us to use.
The tent is a short walk away from the car park, and we trundled down the lane with our trailer, walked across a field, down a little track, across a stream, and into the clearing.
The full address for the site is:
Little Thakeham Farm, Pulborough RH20 3HE
Full instructions on how to find the tent are sent after booking.
I’m sure you can tell that I had a wonderful time staying at the Strawberry Lane Tree Tent. This is definitely the place to stay if you enjoy spending time out in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
Thank you again to Tree Tents International for hosting me, and make sure that you visit their website to find out more and book a stay for yourself.
