I was so excited when I found out that Ambassador had booked me a suite on their lovely ship Ambience.
I sailed in August 2025 on a three day round trip from London Tilbury to Honfleur, travelling with my sister. As it was her first ever cruise, it was lovely to have the extra space and all of the additional treats that come with having a suite.
We found the room to be clean and comfortable, with an enormous wardrobe, roomy balcony, cosy seating area and bathroom with its own bath. Upon arrival our beds were set up as a double, and once we asked, our cabin steward happily separated it for us into two singles.
The decor was definitely a little bit dated, but that’s only to be expected from an older ship. While the furnishings were clearly well used, they were still in good condition, functional, and undamaged.
As a British cruise line, I particularly love that all of the cabins have a kettle and everything you need to make a proper cup of tea, including milk and Tetley tea bags.
Suite guests are welcomed with extra treats including a bottle of wine, mineral water, chocolates, a fruit bowl and daily canapés. Elsewhere in room, suite passengers are provided with an umbrella, binoculars and world atlas, as well as a discount on the laundry service.
The cabins throughout the ship are cleaned by the housekeeping staff every day, while suite guests also receive an evening turn down service. Our cabin steward was very friendly and always greeted us with a wave and a big smile.
On Ambience, all of the guest cabins are located between decks four and eleven. Both categories of suite are up on deck eleven, and ours was just moments away from one of the main stairwells. It was a great location which made it really easy to get around the ship.
For an extra special experience, you have the option of booking one of the ship’s de-luxe suites. These have been completely refitted and are the most modern onboard. Other cabin types available on Ambience include balcony, ocean view and inside rooms, as well as some interconnecting cabins, adapted accessible cabins, solo cabins and third and fourth berth cabins.
British guests will have no need to pack travel adaptors, as all of the rooms have three pin plug sockets and USB charging ports. Other amenities provided for all include a hairdryer, fridge, safe and flat screen TV.
Every cabin has an ensuite bathroom, and my suite room had this excellent bathtub.
Thank you again to Ambassador for hosting me onboard the lovely Ambience. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend booking a cabin for a fun and affordable holiday.
