Sabatini's Menu and Review (With Photos)
(This meal was a gifted experience from Princess Cruises, however, all opinions are my own)
Here’s what you need to know about Sabatini’s on Princess Cruises.
I recently sailed on the Sky Princess for a wonderful two week voyage around the Mediterranean. We set off from Southampton and docked in Spain, Italy and France, visiting iconic locations such as Rome and Florence.
This was my first ever Princess Cruise and I was very impressed with the quality of the ship, the friendliness of the staff, and of course the delicious food.
Although I paid for the cruise myself, Princess kindly gifted me a meal at their onboard Italian restaurant, Sabatini’s, which can be found across their fleet. Here is my honest review, including photographs of the food and their current menu.
What is Sabatini’s?
Princess’s dedicated Italian restaurant, Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, is designed to offer a taste of Tuscany at sea. They specialise in delicious handmade pasta, with rich sauces and delicious bread. Their current menu is inspired by Frescobaldi, and the restaurant aims to provide an authentic Italian trattoria feel.
It’s worth noting that Sabatini’s is a paid for restaurant that costs $55 for an adult and $27.50 for a child. The fee is slightly higher if you’re sailing on the Sun or Star Princess, costing $60 for an adult and $30 for a child.
If you have the Princess Premier package then you can dine here for free, as the speciality restaurants are included in your fee.
Sabatini’s Menu
While you can find a sample menu on the Princess Cruises website, here you can see the exact menu I was provided with while sailing on the Sky Princess.
As you can see below, the menu is structured into three courses: starter, main and dessert, with a selection of drinks and a dessert wine. Options for vegetarians are included, although there is no separate vegan menu like you’ll find in the main dining room.
If you have any dietary requirements then I’d recommend speaking to catering team after boarding so that they can prepare something for you. As a fussy eater, I asked the waiting staff if they could cook me a vegetarian version of the spaghetti with tomato sauce, minus the prawns. They were able to do so with no issues, and it was delicious!

What I thought of the food - my honest review
I love Italian food, so I was very excited to see what Sabatini’s had to offer.
After being seated in the restaurant the waiter took our drinks order and delivered a fresh bread basket, served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This was absolutely delicious, and I particularly loved the focaccia which was very flavourful and well seasoned.
When choosing my food, I decided to start with the Ribollita, which is a hearty Tuscan soup made from tomato and cannoli beans. The portion was tasty and generously sized, served with yet more bread.
Any kind of tomato and pasta dish tends to be my favourite, so for my main course, the kitchen vegetarianised a spaghetti dish for me. This was really good, with a rich sauce and spaghetti that had been cooked in that typically Italian al dente way.
To finish I had the Rocher, which is a chocolate, praline and hazelnut cake, served with ice cream. I was absolutely stuffed but had a good go at finishing it all!
Final Verdict
If you’ve read this far then you’ll know that I really enjoyed my meal in Sabatini’s. Each of my three courses were cooked to perfection, and I particularly liked the bread basket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
This restaurant makes a fantastic option for anyone wanting a special meal onboard a Princess cruise. If you have the Princess Premier package then I’d recommend visiting several times, but if you don’t, then I do think it’s worth the fee and will be a highlight of your voyage.
