Authors Like Emily Henry

After publishing her first romance book in 2020, Emily Henry quickly became a literary superstar. Since then her books have been translated into more than 40 languages and sold over 10 million copies around the world.

It’s easy to see why her books have been so popular. Henry blends feel good romance with deeper topics; each of her books providing food for thought with a happy ending.

I personally love her work, and consider each of her new releases to be an instant purchase. If you’re looking for more authors to read like Emily Henry, then you’re in luck. Here are some of my favourite romance authors that fans of Emily Henry will love.

Abby Jimenez

Another romance genre superstar, Abby Jimenez is a multi talented author and baker. She’s another writer who blends deeper themes with swoon worthy romance into stories which feel truly unique.

I found Abby’s 2025 release, Say You’ll Remember Me, to be particularly moving. This novel features a character who cares for a loved one with Dementia, while also navigating a will they-won’t they romance.

Abby has become one of my go-to authors, and I buy each of her books as they come out!

Laurie Gilmore

Romance fans need to immerse themselves in the Dream Harbour universe!

Set in the same cosy town with characters who know and love one another, Laurie’s books are truly my happy place. Each novel follows a new love story, creating a rich and multilayered world akin to Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls.

These books are particularly ideal for reading in the autumn/winter months, with a number of books being set in the latter half of the year. My only criticism is that they can be a bit predictable, but in a way, that’s kind of the point.

They’re sweet, comforting and always have a happy ending, which sometimes is just what I need from my next read.

Mazey Eddings

One of my more recent recommendations, Mazey is based in North Carolina and started her career working as a dentist before finding success as an author.

Now she writes fun romance books as well as titles for young adults, and my favourite is a queer story called Late Bloomer. I loved this sapphic enemies to lovers romance which follows two women who end up running a farm together against their will.

It’s another fun book with a cosy feel and one that romance lovers will adore.

Ali Hazelwood

One of today’s most iconic authors, Ali Hazelwood is a prolific romance writer who’s super popular on TikTok.

As a neuroscientist herself, she specialises in nerdy romances set in the world of academia that are so addictive, once you’ve read one, you’ll want to read the all.

Her first book, The Love Hypothesis, is a great place to start, and while it sets the tone for lots of her other writing, Ali is capable of writing other things too. Some of her books, like Not in Love, are considered to be much spicier, while Check & Mate is a young adult title.

Ali Hazelwood’s books were actually the ones that first got me into reading romance books, and I know that’s the case for lots of other people too.

Sarah Adams

Another romance author who’s popular on Instagram and TikTok, Sarah Adams writes excellent slow burn romance novels.

I really enjoyed reading When in Rome, which involves a burned out pop princess, a small town romance, and a grumpy local baker.

If you’re after an author who writes golden retriever love interests and cosy, feel good romance stories, then Sarah Adams is the author for you.

Alicia Thompson

Last but not least, Alicia Thompson is one of my recent romance author discoveries.

I read Never Been Shipped while on my own cruise holiday during the summer, and found it to be the ideal unputdownable read for a sunny summer holiday.

You’ll love this one if you enjoy reading about second chance romances, or the relationship dynamics between band members. It tackles some much deeper subjects too, while also celebrating the joy of fandom and fan culture.

All things that I love to read about!
