Best Hotels in Bosham, West Sussex
Here is my complete guide to accommodation in Bosham.
A historic West Sussex village located right by the coast, Bosham is a popular seaside holiday destination. Not only is its waterside location perfect for sailing, but it also makes the ideal base for long rambles in the beautiful Sussex countryside.
The village itself has plenty to do, with a number of excellent cafes, pubs and restaurants to enjoy, as well as a 1000 year old church with links to the Bayeux Tapestry. Creatives will love Bosham Arts and Crafts Centre, which sells a variety of locally made goods and has its own pottery painting studio. Food and drinks are available in the cafe downstairs.
Bosham is also ideally located for anyone visiting Goodwood motor circuit, which is just a 15-20 car journey away. Chichester is very close by, as is Emsworth, which is in the opposite direction, just across the border in Hampshire.
To help with your holiday planning I’ve created this guide to the best hotels, holiday homes and bed and breakfast accommodation in Bosham itself, as well as a few other nearby options in the Chichester area.
Hotels in Bosham
Home to just 4,256 people, I’m sure it won’t surprise you to learn that there are only two hotels in the village itself. Both are fantastic options that will locate you in the heart of the Bosham, just a stone’s throw away from the sea.
The first choice is the Millstream Hotel, which is based out of three former 17th century workmen’s cottages. The hotel has a quaint feel, and the bedrooms are decorated in a pretty, traditional style.
There are two restaurants here: the 2 AA Rosette award winning Sea School, and the more informal Marwick’s Brasserie. It’s a great place for both a celebratory dinner or an afternoon tea, and hotel guests are hosted on a bed and breakfast basis. A free glass of wine is even offered on arrival!
This next option is located along the main road that runs through Bosham on the way to Chichester. The Bosham Boathouse is a gorgeous bed and breakfast with light, tastefully decorated rooms. The owner is known to be very friendly, and previous guests have left a number of exceptional reviews.
The property has a garden, sun terrace and games room available for guests to use, as well as free onsite parking. It even won Visit England B&B of the year in 2024! This is the ideal property for anyone who is after a more quiet, intimate stay within walking distance of the sea.
Hotels Near Bosham
Although there are only a few hotels in the village itself, a variety of other options are available within a short drive.
The first is a great budget option. The Woolpack Inn is located in Fishbourne, which is the next village along from Bosham. This friendly local pub offers a number of simple yet well equipped rooms for a low price.
For a more upmarket stay, drive slightly south of Chichester to the four star Crouchers Hotel, which is based in a converted farmhouse. The rooms are well decorated and modern, located in the renovated barn, stable and coach house.
Also available in the hotel is a 2 AA Rosette winning restaurant, and all of the rooms are provided with a TV and free toiletries.
These next two hotel recommendations are based in Chichester, which is just a 16 minute drive away from Bosham. The Harbour Hotel is housed in a grade two listed townhouse and features a relaxed brasserie and luxurious spa.
Alternatively, why not consider the East Walls Hotel - another stunning historic hotel which is based in central Chichester. Here you will find beautifully decorated rooms, with access to a garden, terrace and bar. The owners are reported to be very friendly and previous guests have said that the breakfast is delicious.

Holiday rentals in Bosham
If you’re looking for a bit more freedom and want to be located within the village itself, then it’s worth considering one of the many lovely holiday rentals in Bosham. Whether you’re travelling alone or in a small group, there will be a property here that fits your needs.
The first of these is Elm Lodge, which is a lovely one bedroom holiday home with separate living and sleeping areas. The lodge has free wifi, a television and washing machine, as well as kitchen facilities and an outdoor seating area. It’s located slightly to the north of Bosham village, just across the main road.
Millside is another cosy one bedroom holiday home, with light and bright rooms. A sofa bed is included in the living room, and the cabin is equipped with a smart TV, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, free wifi and garden with barbecue facilities.
If you’re looking to house a larger group, then you need to check out the four bedroom Blacksmiths Cottage. This house is modern with a large garden, and has all of the usual home facilities including a washing machine and kitchen. Pets are also welcome here, making it ideal if you’re planning on heading to Goodwoof!
This Three Bedroom Beach House is another fantastic option that’s located close to the harbour. This home is perfect for children, with a playhouse in the garden and bunk beds in one of the bedrooms. If being close to the waterfront is important to you, then this three bedroom Waterfront Cottage is also an ideal choice.
Finally, why not consider this spacious Four Bedroom Coastal Retreat. Located in the same area as the last two houses, this property has all the usual mod cons including a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and patio with outdoor furniture.
Wherever you choose to stay, I hope you have a wonderful time in Bosham, West Sussex.
