Bed and Breakfasts in Selsey - A Complete Guide
Here is my guide to accommodation in Selsey, West Sussex.
A beautiful West Sussex seaside town, Selsey has a long history dating back more than 1000 years. It receives its name from the grey seals that occupy the surrounding water, and sometimes come to rest on the shore.
It’s easy to see why so many people love Selsey. This town is the perfect place for long, contemplative walks across miles of pebbled beaches, and sampling fresh fish caught by fishermen earlier on in the day.
Keep an eye out for the seals in the summer (although make sure you stay at least 100 meters away) and make sure to visit the working lifeboat station at Selsey Bill.
For more beaches, you’ll find the Witterings to the west and Pagham Harbour to the east - both of which are popular tourist destinations. Plus, Chichester is just a short drive away if you fancy venturing away from the coast to peruse the shops.
Here’s my guide to the bed and breakfast accommodation in and near Selsey. I’ve also included some fantastic holiday rental options to add a bit more variety and give you additional options.
Bed and Breakfasts in Selsey
If you’re looking for a traditional bed and breakfast, then you have three main options to choose from in Selsey.
The first of these is the very lovely Harbour Lights, which is located close to the sea, and has excellent facilities including a heated outdoor swimming pool and sun terrace. The shops are just a short walk away, and the property also offers free wifi and off road parking.
Another great bed and breakfast option is The Seal, which offers cosy accommodation above their friendly family run pub. Guests have access to free wifi and private parking, and the rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities.
Make sure you consider the Coast Yard B&B, who offer a daily breakfast buffet alongside warm dishes, pancakes, and a variety of juices. The rooms are clean and modern, and some even have balconies.
Holiday Homes in Selsey
While the bed and breakfast options are limited, you’ll find loads of holiday homes in Selsey to suit all tastes. I’ve sifted through and picked out some of the best!
Bear in mind that Selsey also has a large number of static caravans available, which I haven’t included here.
My first recommendation, Sea House, is a stunning property located right by the sea. It has a modern feel with direct access to the beach and a spacious patio that’s ideal for dining outside in the summer. The house has five bedrooms and three bathrooms which makes it perfect for families or other large groups. It’s even pet friendly, so you can bring your pooch along too.
For another high end option, take a look at this unique Historic Railway Home on Selsey seafront. The property started life as a railway carriage, and now functions as a three bedroom and three bathroom holiday home. It has a fully equipped kitchen, living room, garden and free wifi for all guests.
If you’re looking for a large house with a pool, then Warner Wood is perfect for you. This home has five separate bedrooms, a private pool, hot tub and even a pool table.
Smaller Selsey holiday home options include the lovely Sea Esta, which has one bedroom and one bathroom, offering direct access to the beach. Bennett’s End is another simple option, with one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchenette and outdoor terrace.
