The Robin’s Nest Coffee Shop Review, Chichester
(I visited for free in return for an honest review, however, all opinions are my own)
Tucked away down one of Chichester’s cobbled side streets, the Robin’s Nest is a cosy coffee shop and cafe offering delicious home cooked food. I was very kindly invited in for lunch by the owner, and was so impressed that I wanted to write a whole blog post about it!
The cafe itself is small, with an intimate feel and plenty of seating. It’s just the right size - small enough to feel personal, but large enough to seat a good number of hungry Cicestrians (the Saxon name given to people who live in Chichester.) There were lots of adorable touches, including fresh flowers on the tables and a little red robin by the till.
The owner, Rose, is passionate about hospitality and creating spaces for people to gather over food and drink. She’s worked hard to turn the Robin’s Nest into a welcoming space, which includes hosting a monthly supper club and a local running group. There’s even a little book swap corner and games laid out on the tables.
The menu here changes regularly, and revolves around a number of fixed staples. As you can see from the photograph above, the cafe regularly offers toasted focaccia, ciabatta rolls, salads and soup, as well as homemade cakes and pastries. The exact selection is displayed on a handwritten menu behind the counter.
It didn’t take long for us to make our decision. I went for a hummus and roasted vegetable toasted focaccia with a side salad, while my partner opted for a ham and cheese toasted focaccia. Washed down with a cup of breakfast tea and a latte respectively, we thoroughly enjoyed our food.
The focaccia was delicious, and I loved the amount of fresh vegetables that were available. Similarly, my partner had no complaints about his ham and cheese toastie, and we both agreed we would happily order the same thing again!
Deciding to indulge in dessert, we ordered a vegan oat cookie and a chocolate brownie from their baked goods selection, finding them to be equally delicious.
