Known for its outstanding natural beauty and long stretch of golden sand, West Wittering is a popular seaside location in West Sussex. Whether you’re after a sunny summer holiday or a cosy winter getaway, this village has plenty to offer with a wide variety of accommodation options.
There’s plenty of things to do in the local area, with the nearest city, Chichester, just a 20 minute drive away. West Wittering is also located near to the Goodwood Motor Circuit, making it an ideal place to stay when attending events like Goodwood Revival, the Festival of Speed or Goodwoof.
Nature lovers will adore the expansive South Downs National Park which is also just on the doorstep, and offers plenty beautiful countryside walks.

Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
There are three main bed and breakfast options available for people visiting West Wittering.
The first of these is The Wittering, which offers rooms above a quaint British pub. Their accommodation is modern and well decorated, with several double bedroom options. They even have an entire apartment available to rent, which is perfect for anyone wanting access to a private kitchen or travelling as a family.
Each of the double rooms has a private bathroom with free toiletries, and breakfast is served in the restaurant downstairs. Ideally located, the beach is just a 15 minute walk away.
The Beach House is another excellent option that’s located just a few moments up the road from The Wittering. This property offers a variety of room categories, including double rooms, twin rooms and family rooms, and even has a pet friendly option. Breakfast is included in the price of the room.
Finally, make sure to consider the Willow House B&B, which is slightly further away from the beach but has fantastic reviews. Guests have a choice of two king suites, each located within a private cabin. Breakfast is included in the price, and each room has a terrace and peaceful garden view
Holiday Rentals
West Wittering has a variety of holiday rentals available to suit all needs - whether that’s an entire home to house a large group, or an intimate getaway for two.
This Gorgeous Shepherd’s Hut may be the smallest property on this list, but it’s definitely the cosiest! Its unique design offers a double bed that can be converted into a seating area for daytime use, a spacious patio and indoor fireplace.
Parking is provided onsite, and local amenities such as the beach and pub are just a short walk away.
If you’re after more space but enjoy the vibe of the shepherd’s hut, then you will love this Two Bedroom Cabin. Ideal for families, this option provides one double bedroom and one twin, with a small patio and gated entrance.
Alternatively, this Three Bedroom Family Beach Retreat provides all of the amenities you would expect from a spacious family home. Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and a good sized garden with a patio.
It’s worth noting that the bedrooms are configured as one double, one twin, and another with bunk beds, meaning that it’s more suited to families with children.
Larger groups of up to ten people will love this Four Bedroom Beach House, which is equipped with a hot tub on the private patio. The house is bright and decorated in neutral tones, with a spacious kitchen and dining area. Pets are welcome, and the beach is only a 13 minute walk away.
Finally, those with a more generous budget must consider this Stunning Five Bedroom Home. Although it is slightly further away from the beach, the house itself is beautiful with a modern feel and comes with its own private swimming pool.
This is definitely a high end option with lots of space, including a games room with a pool table and bathrooms with sumptuous freestanding bath tubs.
Hotels Near West Wittering
Although the choice of accommodation in West Wittering is limited to B&Bs and holiday rentals, there are many more options avaiable within a short drive.
The first of these is the lovely Crouchers Hotel, which is located just south of Chichester and based in a beautiful converted farmhouse. The 23 guest rooms are located in the external coach house, stable and barn, boasting views of the surrounding countryside. Some rooms even have their own private patio.
The property also offers an award winning restaurant and bar, which has a classy feel and retains the original oak beams of the farmhouse. This hotel is the ideal choice for anyone looking for an upmarket, rural vibe.
Venturing into Chichester itself you’ll find the Harbour Hotel & Spa, which is based in an 18th century building right in the city centre. The property itself retains many of its Georgian and Regency features, including a grand spiral staircase and large windows.
With well decorated rooms, guests also have access to a restaurant, fitness centre and spa. Local amenities including Chichester Cathedral and Chichester Festival Theatre are just moments away.
