Latch Hook Cushion Kit Review - Craft Club Co

Here’s my full review of Craft Club Co’s latch hook cushion kits.
I’m a huge fan of Craft Club Co, so I was really excited to finally get my hands on their latch hook cushion kits.
I’ve completed several latch hook rugs before, and find the process to be really relaxing and meditative. I was looking forward to seeing how the cushion kits compare to the rug kits, what the quality’s like, and whether they’re as easy to complete.
This blog post reviews two different latch hook cushion kits from the Craft Club Co website, covering their overall design, the quality of the materials, contents of the kit and the finished appearance (spoiler, I loved them!)

What Is Latch Hooking?
This craft is both simple enough for complete beginners and relaxing for more experienced crafters.
The process is simple. Using the latch hook, you take a piece of yarn and tie it onto the canvas, matching it to the correct colour. Mastering this knot can take a bit of practice if you haven’t used a latch hook before, but once you’ve got the hang of it, you’re all set.
You then continue tying yarn to the canvas over and over again, working through the colours until you’ve completed the pattern. Once you’re finished, take your craft scissors (if you don’t have any you can buy some here) and trim the edges of the yarn. This makes the cushion cover nice and fluffy, and brings out the detail in the pattern.
And that’s it! As the zipper and backing is already attached to the latch hooking canvas, there’s no sewing required and your cushion cover is ready to use.

The Design
If you like autumn/fall themed decor then you will love this design!
The Pumpkin Spice Cushion Kit is comprised of oranges, yellows and browns, with a distinctive pumpkin pattern. The finished product looks so pretty, and I’m pleased to report that it looks exactly like the photo on their website.
Quality of the Materials
The materials themselves are great quality for the price.
I find that the yarn is soft and the canvas is strong, with zero breakage and an accurately printed template. This kit provided me with plenty of yarn to complete the design, with plenty to spare, and a decent latch hook to attach it with.
My only point of improvement is that the zipper on the cushion covers does tend to get a bit stuck at the beginning, and can require a certain amount of jiggling. It does work, but I’d love to see this improved in the future.
How Easy Is It to Make?
As I’ve already made a number of Craft Club Co latch hook kits before, I found this one very easy to complete.
Everything you need is included in the box, and the instructions are clear and thorough. This latch hook project is ideal for beginners and makes a relaxing, meditative pastime for experienced crafters.
How Long Did It Take?
I’ve become pretty quick at latch hooking and completed this kit within a few days!
Beginners will find that this takes a bit longer to make, depending on the length of their crafting sessions and how often they pick it up. Expect to spend between 1 - 2 weeks working on this.
Review Two: Earthy Wild Blooms Cushion Kit

The Design
This kit has an off white background and colourful orange and pink flowers. The canvas has the clearly marked on the grid, which makes it easy to follow without the pattern guide.
You can see the finished product in the photo above, which I’m really pleased with! Again, it looks just like the photo advertised on their website.
This photo was taken part way through the process, before I added the background.
Quality of the Materials
As with the Pumpkin Spice kit, I found the quality of this project to be really high. The pattern was printed accurately onto the canvas, which stayed intact throughout the process.
I also thought that the yarn was nice and soft, creating a fluffy feel once I’d trimmed it at the end. I just hope that the zipper gets an upgrade in future so that it glides more easily.
How Easy Is It to Make?
The process was largely the same as the previous cushion kit that I completed. It’s definitely an easy project to create, with a pre-stitched backing and zipper, meaning that no sewing skills are required.
Plus you only need to learn one knot tying technique, so once you’ve mastered that you’re good to go.

How Long Did It Take?
I completed this kit super quickly - within 48 hours!
Beginners will find that this takes between 1 - 2 weeks of regular crafting sessions, speeding up as you develop your skills and gain experience.
